Check-ups
Regular eye exams are important to detect and treat diseases such as loss of visual acuity, amblyopia, strabismus, glaucoma, cataract and retinal disorders at an early stage.
Diagnostic Procedures
We use advanced diagnostic procedures to identify eye diseases. These procedures include orthoptic measurement of eye alignment and motility, age-appropriate measurement of intraocular pressure, optical coherence tomography (OCT), corneal topography and special photographic techniques of the ocular fundus.

Pediatric Ophthalmology

Strabismus
Strabismus is not strabismus!
Strabismus (misalignment of the eyes) occurs in children, adolescents and adults. It can cause double vision, eye discomfort and blurred vision. In children, it can lead to a visual processing disorder called ““amblyopia””. Obvious strabismus is not a just cosmetic problem! Even if one does not have double vision (diplopia), it can cause psychological and social problems and should be treated.

There are different forms of strabismus. It is important to perform an accurate examination of ocular alignment and motility (eye movements), because only a correct diagnosis leads to an appropriate therapy! In order to offer you or your child the right treatment for strabismus, we take enough time for an in-depth examination and a thorough discussion of the findings.

Strabismus Surgery
In collaboration with the MEOCLINIC in Berlin Mitte and DRK Kliniken Westend, we perform strabismus surgery to correct misalignment of the eyes.

In addition to surgery, we offer conservative treatment methods to effectively treat strabismus. This includes prism glasses, patching and other modalities.
